Christy Conner, Registered Veterinary Technician

Christy joined the team at The Veterinary Clinic, P.C. in May 2009. As a registered veterinary technician, she is responsible for surgical preparation, taking radiographs, laboratory analysis of bloodwork, assisting veterinarians during examinations and communicating with the hospital's clients. Christy's favorite parts of the job are the hands-on tasks like drawing blood, performing radiographs and ultrasounds, and caring for hospitalized patients.

Christy earned her Associate degree in Arts and Sciences with a focus in Veterinary Technology. She is licensed in the state of Iowa.

"I like the variety of patients we get to see each day, and the knowledge and compassion our doctors give to each pet," Christy says.

At home, Christy has a 12-year-old Boston terrier named Charlie, an 8-year-old cat named Pop Tart, a 2-year-old cat named Daffodil, and several chickens and ducks on her farm. She enjoys camping, cooking and spending as much time with her kids as possible.

Deanna Chapuis, Veterinary Technician

Deanna Chapuis has been a veterinary technician at The Veterinary Clinic, P.C. since 1990. She is responsible for dental procedures on small animals and helping the veterinarians with large-animal work. Deanna enjoys working with the caring staff and veterinarians and likes the unique nature of working with animals. She is the foster mom to a yellow lab named Maci and her feline companion, Oscar. Golfing, canoeing and kayaking on the river, watching sports and spending time with her family are among Deanna's favorite pastimes.

Julie Lisk, Veterinary Technician

Veterinary technician Julie Lisk has been a member of The Veterinary Clinic, P.C. team since 1995. She finds helping pets to be very rewarding and likes the challenges and learning experiences that come with working at a veterinary hospital. She is proud to be part of the caring, friendly staff. When she's not at the clinic, Julie enjoys gardening, fishing, camping and spending time with friends, and her husband, two daughters and son.

Emilie Glass, Veterinary Technician

Veterinary technician Emilie Glass has been in the animal care field since 2003, working with both horses and small animals. At The Veterinary Clinic, P.C., Emilie is responsible for assisting the doctors during appointments, patient care, client education, grooming dogs and cats, kennel help, coordinating and general cleaning. Her favorite part of her job is sharing information with clients about preventive care for their pets.

Emilie earned her Bachelor of Arts in English with a Minor in French from the University of Puget Sound. She has also completed one year of online veterinary technician school with Cedar Valley College. Emilie says, "Besides enjoying every day with wonderful co-workers, the veterinary care that this clinic provides is top notch. I never worry or doubt when an animal comes in with a serious illness or injury because I know that they will receive the best possible care."

At home, Emilie has a lab mix named Ebony, a Blue Heeler named Clyde, and a Cardigan Welsh Corgi named Shadow. She also has an Appaloosa horse named Bandit, a pony named Mini Pearl, and two domestic shorthair cats named B.K. and Lippy. In her free time, Emilie enjoys taking long walks with her dogs twice a day, riding horses, barrel racing, drawing, painting, cooking, and farming alongside her husband.

Jara Vroman, Veterinary Technician

Jara Vroman joined the medical team at The Veterinary Clinic, P.C. in May 2016. As a veterinary technician, she is responsible for filling prescriptions, cleaning, assisting the veterinarians, bringing in outpatients, discussing animal care and educating clients. Jara is hardworking and friendly, and her favorite part of the job is helping both animals and their owners.

"Everyone is super-friendly at the clinic," Jara says. "The clinic has a smooth work flow and everyone gets along with everyone."

In 2013, Jara earned her Veterinary Assistant Certificate from Black Hawk College. She went on to study at Muscatine Community College where she graduated in May 2016 with her Associate degree in Veterinary Technology. Jara is currently working on taking her state and national board exams to become a registered veterinary technician.

At home, Jara has a 10-month-old Basset Hound named Willie and a domestic shorthair rescue named Shadow. Jara enjoys crafts, fishing, motorcycle riding, camping, traveling, shopping and spending time with her family.

Caitlyn Hunter, Receptionist and Veterinary Assistant

Caitlyn Hunter joined The Veterinary Clinic, P.C. as a receptionist and veterinary assistant in September 2014. She is a certified groomer and licensed massage therapist with an interest in animal massage therapy. Caitlyn's responsibilities include scheduling appointments, assisting customers and assisting our veterinarians and veterinary technicians.

At home, Caitlyn has a number of pets, including horses, mules, dogs, sheep, chickens and farm cats. In her spare time she enjoys gardening, spending time with her family, horseback riding and camping.

Casey Cronk, Receptionist

Casey Cronk has assisted clients and their pets as a receptionist at The Veterinary Clinic, P.C. since 2006. She is proud to be part of the caring staff and enjoys learning about pet care.

Casey shares her home with two dogs Lulu, and Pooch; a cat named Tiger; and three quarter horses. She spends her free time with her husband, two little boys, and enjoys riding horses, camping, being near the water in the summertime and hunting and anything with friends and family!

Kristen Terrell

Kristen Terrell, Receptionist

Kristen Terrell joined the team at The Veterinary Clinic, P.C. in September 2015. As a receptionist, she is responsible for answering phone calls, making appointments, checking patients in and out, assisting the technicians and the groomer and answering client's questions. Her favorite part of the job is working with all different types of animals.

"Everyone who works here is great and easy to work with and call friends," Kristen says. "You never know what you will see some days."

At home, Kristen has three cats named Maxine, Harley, and Charli, as well as an 8-year-old German Shephard named Slayer. She enjoys disc golf, biking, fishing, going to the creek, reading, crocheting and playing cards.

Cheryl Lankford, Groomer

Cheryl Lankford is a groomer who joined the staff at The Veterinary Clinic, P.C. in April of 2012. Cheryl cares for clients' pets by bathing, trimming and brushing them while keeping the kennel area clean and neat.

"I have always wanted to work with animals, but didn't have any training," Cheryl said. "But the veterinarians and the staff here have been so nice to give me a chance to learn and enjoy the job. They have been great."

Cheryl has one rescue cat named Crista Belle, and one dog Chloe. Cheryl relaxes by walking, and playing with her cat, dog and hanging out with her husband of 39 years.

Cheryl Simplot, Bookkeeper

Cheryl Simplot joined the staff at The Veterinary Clinic, P.C. in June 2008. As a bookkeeper, she is responsible for managing the payroll for all of the hospital's employees. Cheryl has a bachelor's degree in business administration. Around the hospital, she is flexible and helpful, and doesn't mind assisting the doctors and staff if the need arises.

"I enjoy working with all of the employees and doctors at The Veterinary Clinic, P.C.," Cheryl says. "I am always learning something new about animals. The veterinary clinic is a great environment for animals, customers and employees." At home, Cheryl has a 6-year-old Cairn Terrier named Miley May.
